Join the White Plains Public Library's "Battle of the Books" team!

As of July 8, registration for our Battle of the Books team is full.  Stay tuned to see how our team does in October!

The “Battle of the Books” is a countywide competition made up of teams from participating Westchester County public libraries. It will be held on October 18th, 2014. If you will be entering 5th through 9th grade in September, 2014, you can be on one of our teams.
Between June and September our team members will read 5 books that have been selected by the “Battle of the Books” committee. Over the summer, our teams will meet several times to talk about the books and have our own practice competitions. On October 18th, our teams will compete against other libraries' teams in a day-long trivia contest based on the 5 titles.
The “Battle of the Books” is a friendly competition, focusing on reading good books, teamwork, sportsmanship and having fun!

Konigsburg; “The One and Only Ivan,” by Katherine Applegate; “Titanic: Voices from the Disaster,” by Deborah Hopkinson; “The City of Ember,” by Jeanne DuPrau; and “When You Reach Me,” by Rebecca Stead.
