Homework Help

Is your child struggling with their homework assignments? Then stop by the Trove Monday-Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for free after-school help from retired teachers and college students. Homework help is available on a first-come, first-served basis for students in grades 1-6.

Homework Help is not designed to be one-on-one tutoring, but instead a way to work through individual questions or problems a student may have difficulty with while doing their homework, or to have work checked after completing it.

Hi Irine, Homework Help is not one on one tutoring as it’s designed to be “question” or “problem” based – if a student is doing their homework, and needs help with a specific question, or to have work checked, they bring it to the “homework helper.” Then they go back to doing their homework on their own. Note: 8th Grade Homework Help is only on Thursdays, in the Edge, from 4-7, and will only be every other Thursday starting in November.

An 8th Grade student can be in the Library on their own, however to be in the Edge they will have to show their school ID showing their Grade level, have an Edge card, or be able to show their school schedule confirming their grade. If you have any questions about this, feel free to call the Edge at (914) 422-1481.
