October Book Bunch & Author Visit

Does your child enjoy funny books? Do they geek out about mythology? Are they really into graphic novels? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then your kid would be totally interested in our upcoming virtual book discussion!

On Wednesday, October 6th at 4:30 p.m., join librarians Ashley and Caroline to chat about the first book in the Nico Bravo series called Nico Bravo and the Hound of Hades by Mike Cavallaro. We’re thrilled to announce that author and illustrator Mike Cavallaro will be joining us for a Q&A session after the discussion! This program is open to those in 4th through 8th grade. Nico Bravo and the Hound of Hades is about a kid named Nico Bravo, a sphinx named Lula, and a unicorn named Buck. They all work at Vulcan’s Celestial Supply Shop, where customers can find magical merchandise to set things right and the staff prides themselves on providing “legendary service and expertise in all areas of the arcane.” But Nico’s world is about to be turned upside down thanks to his latest customer that is interested in slaying Cerberus. Doing that would bring about a zombie apocalypse since Cerberus is the only thing preventing the hordes of the Underworld from entering the land of the living.

We will provide a free copy of the book to the first 10 individuals to register for the discussion. When the books are available, we will email to arrange pickup; please list an email address when registering. To register, please use this link. You can place a hold on a print copy of Nico Bravo and the Hound of Hades here. If you’d like to place a hold on a print copy of Mike’s other books, please go here.
