Fiesta with Flor! is an invitation to dance around the world in a Latin music fusion party as we travel to the places where the rhythms were born.

Let’s Groove! Music Class

Join Lisa from Let’s Groove Children’s Entertainment for a fun-filled music class! Get ready to move and groove to a bunch of tunes!

Create a Minecraft World
Tuesdays, 4:00 p.m.: 7/12, 8/9
Grade 6-12. Registration required. Register here.
Virtual.
Youth are invited to work together in a safe, learning environment via Minecraft Realms and focus on their design skills. Activities will include digitally planning to adequately survive in a randomly generated world and/or building things collectively with others in creative mode.
Fortnite for Teens
Thursdays, 4:00 p.m.: 7/14, 8/11

Hybrid: The Edge / Virtual.
Play Fortnite online together in a safe, private learning environment. In this app, which fosters an equal playing field and gender representation, players are rewarded for teamwork and planning abilities. Activities will include a variety of creative modes and a focus on designing 3D structures for strategic advantage.
Pirate School

Ahoy me hearties! America's premiere swashbuckling family variety act is a madcap school for ‘good pirates.' Featuring slapstick, magic, puppetry, bubble-play and cartoon-like sound effects, Pirate School allows kids to live out their dreams of seafaring adventure. Come in your best pirate garb!
Celebrate African Dance, Drumming & Storytelling
Wednesday, 7:00 p.m.: 7/20

West African dance tells a story. Chiku Awali African Dance, Arts & Culture, Inc. performs and teaches African dances. In all African cultures, dances are participatory. Chiku Awali will share the beauty and magic of these types of dances, and the audience is encouraged to join in these celebratory dances. Alongside the dancing, the griot will enchant the audience with tales of Anansi the Spider. Chiku Awali is a combination of Swahili and Ibo that means charterer and joy. Thus, the name represents the joy of a new adventure.
Engineering Time for Youth

Jedi Academy
Tuesday, 2:00 p.m.: 8/2
Grades 1-6.

Calling all Vaders, Space Princesses and Wookies. Come learn the ways of the Jedi and access the Force within! Featuring slapstick, magic, puppetry, bubble-play and cartoon-like sound effects Jedi Academy! allows children the chance to live out their Star Wars dreams.
The Jester Jim Show
Wednesday, 2:00 p.m.: 8/3

“This is not your ordinary juggling show!” Juggling, spinning iPads, beat boxing, amazing tricks and lots of laughs. With a trunk full of props and a looping machine, Jester Jim takes the stage and starts his show. Young and old will be glued to his every sound as he performs his amazing beatbox intro. Kids and adults alike will be talking about Jester Jim's wild antics for weeks.

TaleWise presents Pirates Lost at Sea!
Thursday, 2:00 p.m.: 8/4
PreK-Grade 5, families.
Library Plaza / Rain Location: Library Auditorium.
Ahoy there, mateys! Set sail on swashbuckling and hilarious STEM-filled piratical adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island. With mutiny and high-tide looming, they must rescue their salty captain and find a way to repair their ship before all hope is lost … at sea! Throughout the story, explore the incredible science behind clouds, physical and chemical changes, air pressure, and more! Volunteers from the audience will help conduct several hands-on science experiments that ‘ARRR’ sure to amaze you! Don’t miss your chance to experience this interactive nautical tale — with a refreshing splash of science!

Game Design for Youth

Move & Groove Under the Sea

It's an “underwater” movement, dance, song and stories program with Miss Jolie, live and in-person on the Library Plaza!
Music and Puppets with Jumpin' Jamie

Join “Kindie Rock” musician Jumpin' Jamie and a cast of puppet friends for singing, dancing, and an “ocean adventure”!
Book Bunch: Stand Up Yumi Chung by Jessica Kim

Library Plaza / Rain Location: see calendar.
Participants will discuss the book Stand Up Yumi Chung together and play a trivia game. Free copies of the book are available in limited quantities to registered participants. The book is also available in the Library Catalog and as an eBook.
