Summer Reading at the White Plains Public Library starts Monday, June 26 and will run through Friday, August 11.

Come to the Library and sign up for summer reading!
For Pre-K through Grade 6, head up to the Trove to pick up your logging materials. For Grades 7-12 summer reading, visit the Edge to sign up.
Start logging reading time and activities!
- For PreK: every activity board completed counts towards an entry in the summer reading raffle!
- For Grades K-6: every five completed activities in a row on the bingo board earns special stickers, for up to six stickers for a fully completed board; and every reading log completed counts towards an entry in the summer raffle (two if both sides are completed)! Reading will be counted in minutes – each square on the board is 20 minutes of reading time, so one set of 3 squares = 1 hour of reading time.
- For Grades 7-12: Let us know what you’re reading this summer, whether you read one book or fifty. Here’s how we’re tracking points along the way:
- 1 Book = 1 piece of candy, 1 raffle ticket, and 1 vote for Kat’s hair color
- 5 Books = coupon for 1 free ice cream scoop from Ice Cream Social
- 10 Books = coupon for 1 free book from the Friends of the Library bookstore
Prizes
- Pre-K Summer Reading: Family fun gift basket with games, toys and activities.
- Grades K-6 Summer Reading: a back-to-school backpack for each grade, with school supplies and fun surprises.
- Teens Grades 7-12 Summer Reading:
- Grand Prize: Kindle Fire
- Second Prize: $25 Barnes and Noble gift card
- Third Prize: Board Game

Books in our Suggested Reads by Grade Level collection features a great librarian-curated selection of diverse, inclusive, and downright awesome reads. These Reading Lists are what the school district uses, as well!
Sora eBook Access!
White Plains students can access the wealth of eBooks available in Libby from the Library without a library card! They can do so via their school Sora account! Details on how to do this can be found here (Spanish).
