Technology Sessions for Teens

Every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in the Edge, teens can learn a variety of skills relating to digital technology, from music creation to 3D printing and design. Known as “T(h)ech Thursdays,” the goal is to learn computer science concepts, promote creative thinking, and allow teenagers to use technologically-advanced equipment. For computer science learning in T(h)ech Thursdays, a variety of tools and applications are available to the teens. 3D Print Your Design for Free!

The Library offers community access to new and emerging technologies such as 3D printers to inspire a new interest in design and help the community to bring their creations to life. Bring in your file (preferably in .stl or .obj format) to be printed using the library’s Makerbot Replicator 2 3D printer. 3D Printing and Design

Come and learn about 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD) with TinkerCAD on May 9, 2015 at 1:15 p.m. in the Edge Media Lab. Participants will have the chance to design an original object and print it out in physical form via the library’s MakerBot Replicator 2 (3D Printer). There is a limit of 6 participants and registration is required.

Intro to 3D Printing and Design

Come and learn about 3D printing and Computer-aided design (CAD) with SketchUp, a free computer application. Participants will have the chance to design an original object and bring it home in physical form via the library’s MakerBot Replicator 2 (3D Printer). This program will begin at 10:15am on Thursday September 11th in the Edge Media Lab. There is a limit of 10 participants & registration is required.
