SUNY WCC Session for Teens and Parents

SUNY WCC Information Session Tuesday, 10/25, 5:00 p.m. Teens, Adults Virtual Registration required. Register here. SUNY Westchester Community College’s Admissions Information Sessions provide an opportunity to learn about WCC’s more than 65 different degree programs, student services, admission requirements, and the enrollment process. This program is presented by Wendoli Tejada, Adjunct counselor in the Office of Admissions, SUNY WCC. This program is offered in conjunction with Somers Library and other Westchester Library System libraries.

College Workshops

The Library will be hosting two college admissions workshops on Zoom this January. The third and final workshop with College Wise will be on Wednesday, January 6, at 6:00 p.m. This presentation provides an overview of the different components of the college application and highlights ways student can make their application shine. Registration is required, you can register here. On Tuesday, January 19, at 7:00 p.m., Ron Feuchs from Stand Out For College will discuss strategies for applying to college in the age of COVID-19.

College Readiness Workshop Series Begins Sept. 27

Next week marks the start of the Edge's College Readiness Workshop Series, run in partnership with The City of White Plains, Westchester Library System, Tomorrow’s Genius, and the New York State Department of Financial Services. The series will cover five key topics for students and their families: SAT vs. ACT, College Applications, the College Essay, College Financing, and College Repayment: SAT vs. ACT (September 27) – These two entrance exams, while similar, have subtle differences that can help you best showcase your academic skills.
