Three Updates

Three things. One, we're very excited that the Library exterior is being power-washed. Feel free to grab a sponge and come help out (joking!) This is one of the most frequent questions I receive, but it made sense to wait until the work in the Library plaza draws to a close. The washing will take two weeks or so, and there may be some minor disruptions.

Two, watch over the next few weeks as the fencing comes down and the beautiful Library Plaza becomes available for use. We're planning a celebration on September 14—more information below.

Finally, our One Book, One White Plains program is underway. Go here for more information or to sign up for a discussion group.

Mindfulness for Teens

Andrea Deierlein from Thrive Reiki will be here for some fun and relaxation on Monday, August 26th at 2:00 p.m. We’ll learn how mindfulness techniques, such as breathing and meditation, can promote calmness and creativity. We’ll also explore mind-body awareness with exercises and games. This program is for grades 6-12; registration recommended.

Artists' Loft with Art Bennett

Come join Art Bennett in the Library’s café space from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28th for fun, creativity, and community. Musicians are welcome every month, with all musical skill levels welcome. Bring your instrument and any tunes you want to work on, or just bring your ears to relax and listen. Art likes to run a workshop-style event, where you get a chance to see how musicians who have never played together before work to create! An electric piano and a PA will be available.
