The White Plains Library Foundation appreciates the community’s enthusiasm for the Library and that’s why we’re asking for your help with a special fundraising initiative.
After years of daily use, some of the furniture in the Trove (our children’s library) and the Edge (our teen library) needs to be replaced. Every month, these two areas receive thousands of visits and, as a result, the most popular furniture has become worn-out and tired.
We think wear and tear is a good sign because it demonstrates that young people are using the Library to engage in programs, explore resources, and spend time with their peers.

Let’s keep them coming and inspire even deeper connections to the Library! Please help us raise $15,000 by June 30. Your donation will help the Foundation buy new furniture that will brighten the Trove and Edge for years to come.
(or mail a check payable to the White Plains Library Foundation, address below)

Contributions of $500 and above will be acknowledged during July in the Library’s weekly newsletter sent to over 12,000 email subscribers. Thank you.
The White Plains Public Library is a dynamic civic institution that welcomes over half a million visitors annually. The Trove, a library for children, opened in 2005 and the Edge, a library and media lab for teens, opened in 2014. In 2018 the Library completed a major renovation to create the Hub, an expanded area for adults, including a café and bookstore. Open daily, the Library circulates nearly 200 items for every hour of operation and offers hundreds of programs for people of all ages.
The White Plains Library Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization incorporated in 1995 to help the White Plains Public Library reach its long term goals. Through contributions from individuals, foundations and businesses, the Foundation raises funds for new programs, service enhancements and capital projects. Private support from Foundation donors helps supplement the Library’s essential public funding from the City of White Plains.
