This September and October, White Plains will come together as a community to read Celeste Ng’s Everything I Never Told You. A gripping page-turner and striking family portrait, the novel follows a family in 1970s Ohio as they try to understand the death of the oldest daughter, Lydia. It explores “alienation, achievement, race, gender, family, and identity” (Amazon.com).
How to participate?
If you have a book group, make
Everything I Never Told You your selection for September or October. We are happy to provide copies and, if you wish, have a facilitator join your book group.
No book group? No problem. Gather a group of friends or work colleagues to read and discuss the book. Again, we will provide copies as well as a discussion leader, if you wish, to meet with your group.
Or
join one of our pop-up discussion groups at the Library: Thursday, 9/12 at 12:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 9/17 at 6:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 9/25 at 2:00 p.m.; Saturday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m.; Tuesday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, 10/23 at 7:00 p.m. To register, visit our website whiteplainslibrary.org or call us at 914-422-1480.
As of August 15, we’ll have plenty of eBook copies available through
Libby, our eBook app. To arrange for print copies, book a facilitator, or if you have any questions, contact Brian Kenney, 914-422-1406 or
bkenney@whiteplainslibrary.org.
This program is made possible by support of the City of White Plains and the White Plains Library Foundation.
