Register now for the White Plains Education & Training Center's IT Support Specialist Bootcamp. This is a training for an entry-level position in a growing field where starting salaries range from $55,000-$75,000 and advancement opportunities are plentiful and accessible. The course will be held March 25 – June 7 at the WPETC. A full-time commitment is required. This course and the certification exam is offered at no cost. Ditch the Diet New Year's Resolution

 
Are you struggling with punishing diets, unrealistic expectations of a perfect body
and life, and an overload of demands? If so, join Jodi Baretz on Wednesday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. when she will guide you gently into a mindfulness practice by sharing her best tips and techniques. Baretz, author of Mindful Is the New Skinny: 10 Transformational Steps to a Lighter You Inside & Out, is a psychotherapist and holistic health coach in private practice at the Center for Health and Healing in Mt. Race & American Society


Interested in sharing your thoughts about some of the toughest issues facing our country—as well as listening to the opinions of your neighbors and friends? Then join us for Common Ground, a series of community conversations hosted by the Library and the League of Women Voters of White Plains. Technology Sessions for Teens


Every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in the Edge, teens can learn a variety of skills relating to digital technology, from music creation to 3D printing and design. Known as “T(h)ech Thursdays,” the goal is to learn computer science concepts, promote creative thinking, and allow teenagers to use technologically-advanced equipment.

Online Tutoring for K-12


Tutor.com can help students get their homework done, write their paper or study for a test. Don’t let your child get frustrated. Instead, have them log on to Tutor.com through our website to get the help they need, right when they need it. Tutors are available every day from 2:00–11:00 p.m. in both English and Spanish.

Students (and parents!) can get help for any kind of academic question in math, science, English, social studies and writing. The tutors work with students in kindergarten through 12th grade and even AP level class work and intro-level college coursework. Connecting with a tutor is easy.
