The White Plains Library Foundation is proud to recognize the following honorees at the 25th Anniversary Gala on March 14*.
Barbara R. Loucks Barbara has always worked to better the lives of children, and this passion brought her to the Foundation where she's been involved for more than two decades. She was a key advocate for the Foundation’s first major fundraising initiative, the Trove, and continued to champion a number of improvements at the Library. Her dedicated Board service has provided continuity to its members and leadership. According to Barbara, “our Library is a community builder – a vital asset, everyone who walks into the Library is equal”.
Diane H. Tabakman Serving on the Foundation Board, and as its immediate past President, Diane has developed and led community-wide efforts to advocate and raise funds for what she calls “our city’s most democratic institution – one that welcomes all who want to learn.” Under Diane’s leadership as Board President, the Foundation completed a multi-year capital campaign for the Hub, a public private-partnership with the City, resulting in a major renovation of the first floor of the Library. Happily retired, Diane held careers in social services, corporate human resources and nonprofit management.
