What’s Next in the Edge: July and August

Read on to find out about the activities we've planned for grades 7-12 this summer. As usual, we have a lot going on. Stop by anytime during Edge hours to say hello and find out more about the Edge.

Edge Hours

Monday – Thursday: 1:00-8:00 p.m.
Friday: 1:00-6:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 1:00-5:00 p.m.

Drop-in Activities

No registration is required for these ongoing programs for grades 7-12.

Video Game Time
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during Edge hours.

Tech Tuesday
Youth in grades 4-12 will learn about new technology topics on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m.

Thoughtful Thursday
Take time for a meditative art project on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.

Sunday Teen Movies
Join us for a movie and popcorn.

Summer reading program begins on Monday, July 1 to Friday, August 30. Join us for our kick-off party! Raid the shelves, eat snacks, play video games, win prizes, and get yourself ready for a summer full of independent reading! No registration required. This event is for teens in grades 7-12.

Join cartoonist Rick Stromoski for a cartooning lesson. Rick will be presenting virtually, but we'll gather in the Media Lab to learn from him together. Bead Earring Workshop

Learn to make jewelry for a good cause. Instructor Joan Lloyd will teach us how to make beautiful dangly earrings. For every pair you make to donate to a women's shelter, you'll make a pair to keep. For teens in grades 7-12 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Learn the basics of knitting or crochet with Kat! We will teach beginner stitches and begin to knit/crochet a scarf. Knitting needles or a crochet hook and one skein of yarn will be provided to those starting out. For those returning, please bring your needles/hook and yarn. A Pretty Cool Everyday Journal

A. I. Camp for Teens

Youth from grades 6-12 will have the chance to learn about the ins and outs of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) through a variety of fun activities and content, in both the new Igloo VR room and Edge Media Lab. Led by Digital Media Specialist Austin Olney.
