Youth in grades 4-12 will learn about new technology topics on select Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m.

Beginner Stitching

Museum Gallery
Teens, Adults
Learn the basics of knitting and crochet with Kat and Cecelia! We will teach beginner stitches and provide yarn and the needles/hook needed to make a practice square. Experienced crafters are welcome to attend any session; registration is required for beginners. Space for learners is limited in order to provide a good experience for everyone. Grand Central Terminal (History via Igloo)

Learn about the fascinating history of Grand Central Terminal, one of the most famous transportation hubs in the world. Informative presentation held in the library's panoramic Igloo content room (near Trove entrance on 2nd floor), funded by the Library Foundation and Optimum. Presented by Digital Media Specialist Austin Olney.

The Library offers a fun, unprogrammed time ONLY for White Plains teens in grades 9-12. Games, crafts, coloring, food, hanging out, video games, karaoke, virtual experiences, dancing, are all just some of the things that could be going on! Teens must be in grades 9-12 and able to show White Plains residence.
Financial Literacy for Teens
Monday February 10 at 4:00 p.m.

Teens will learn about personal finance topics: creating a budget, managing your money, protecting your financial security, and planning for the future.
Cooking Class

Story Trove
Teens
Join us to learn how to cook a simple meal. Recipes range from chicken, rice and broccoli to grilled cheese. For teens in grades 7-12; registration required.
Teen Driving in the Igloo
Tuesday February 11 at 4:00 p.m.

Grades 4 – 12
Youth participants of this program will have virtual driving fun in the library's “Igloo” room. Led by Digital Media Specialist Austin Olney. For grades 4-12. Registration is not required, but is appreciated. Equipment provided, all encouraged!
Do Gooders

Teens in grades 7-12 can earn community service hours by attending Do Gooders meetings. We work on projects to benefit the library or other local organizations and plan future After Hours events. No registration is required.
Baseball History: 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates
Saturday February 14 at 12:30 p.m.

September 1, 1971, the first time in MLB history that a team fielded a lineup of all African American and Afro Latino players. A relevant sports history topic that did not get full coverage when the event occurred, the Pittsburgh Pirates fielded a line-up of all African-American and Afro-Latin ballplayers. John Vorperian will give a talk on this momentous occurrence explaining the baseball angle as to why it happened, the omission of news reporting as well featuring the players themselves, including Roberto Clemente and Dock Ellis. This program is made possible thanks to the support of the White Plains Library Foundation.
Wanderhome
Fridays February 14 and 28 at 4:30 p.m.

Wanderhome is a relaxed journey through the peaceful land of the same name, a land where characters build their journey location by location and grow together as they travel. No previous RPG experience needed, as Wanderhome is rules-light! Youth Leadership Institute

In collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, an opportunity for youth ages 10-13 to take part in activities and workshops, learn leadership skills, and more. This event is part of a series; registration is required.
Edge Advisory Board

Grades 7 – 12
A meeting of the Edge Advisory Board, a group of teens who love the library and work to plan activities for teens in the Edge. Teens may earn community service credit for meaningful participation.
