Homebound

Homebound Services are for White Plains residents who are unable to come to the Library due to temporary or permanent illness, disability or injury. Through this program, homebound patrons may call the Library to have books, DVDs* or compact discs delivered to their home.

This service is a joint project with our Friends of the Library group.

A volunteer from the Library delivers the items that have been selected by a librarian. The Homebound Librarian works closely with each patron to identify favorite authors, genres, or formats, choosing from the Library’s large selection of both regular and large print books, paperbacks, DVDs*, and compact discs. Typically, five to ten items items are delivered to the homebound patron approximately every six weeks.

Homebound White Plains residents should contact the Homebound Services Librarian at 914-422-1485 if they would like to join this program or have any questions about this service.

*DVDs must have been in circulation for at least three months.
