¿No hablas español? Would you like to learn? This fall, we are pleased to be offering beginning Spanish conversation classes. In this class participants will be introduced to simple everyday usage of vocabulary, grammar and conversation. Classes meet every Monday and Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 p.m., starting Monday, September 24. The instructor, Naicy Petrill, is a native of Peru and currently teaching Spanish at Westchester Community College. She holds a New York State teaching certificate for Spanish and is very excited to partner with us in this new program. Space is limited. Register online or at the reference desk.
This program is funded by the White Plains Library Foundation.

Hi Harris, our Spanish class is currently full. The next class likely won’t begin until September, with registration in August. We do have a Spanish conversation group (Tarde de ñ) on Monday nights if you would like to attend those to practice.

Hi Elke, our Spanish classes are always offered Monday evenings twice yearly: once in fall and once in the spring. We currently have no plans for a weekend class in the fall/winter, but I’ll pass on your feedback to the librarian who books the class.

Hi Karina,
We will offer Spanish for Beginners again in the Spring. You’ll want to check back around February, and consider subscribing to our eNewsletter (if you aren’t already subscribed). Let me know if you’d like me to sign you up for that as it’s the best way to get updates on the latest programming and services we offer.

I would be interested in taking Spanish classes at night or on the weekends. I took Spanish in high school many years ago but would like to start learning the language to eventually speak it. I live in White Plains.
