Prepare for the Citizenship Interview

Saturday, March 12 at 12:00 p.m. Immigration officer Shyconia Burden-Noten of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services will demonstrate a US Citizenship mock interview to help applicants prepare for their own interview. All are invited to come and ask Ms. Burden questions related to the naturalization process, green cards, employment authorization, and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Attorneys and a paralegal will be available to provide consultations to individuals and answer questions. The Westchester Hispanic Coalition will be here to help translate this program.

Spanish for Beginners

Classes meet every Monday and Wednesday from 7:00 p.m.-8:45 p.m., starting Wednesday March 2. You can register on our online calendar or at the Reference Desk. Space is limited. This Spring the White Plains Public Library will again offer a beginning class in Spanish. The emphasis will be on spoken Spanish, and the course is designed for students with little or no knowledge of Spanish. Participants will be introduced to simple, everyday usage of vocabulary, grammar, and conversation in an active, participatory and fun environment. Instructor Naicy Petrill is a native of Peru.
