Great programs for younger children take place all month long, every month, at the Library.  See our online calendar or stop in the Trove for location information.

Storytime!
Ages 2-6, Families
Tuesdays, 11:00 a.m. – January 3, 10, 17, 31
Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. – January 12, 26
Stories, songs and fun with a Trove Librarian. Following Storytime on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the children and caregivers are invited to Toy Time in the Story Trove – a time to play and socialize!

Let’s Groove! with Miss Lisa
Ages 3 months – 5 years, Families
Thursday, 11:00 a.m. – January 5
Join Miss Lisa and her guitar for a fun-filled music class and be ready to dance to a bunch of tunes!
Three Kings Day / Día de los Reyes Storytime & Art Workshop
Children, Families
Saturday, 2:00 p.m. – January 7
Join White Plains Public Library, the White Plains Puerto Rican Cultural Commitee, Comite Noviembre, and Prida for a storytime and art workshop for Three Kings Day.
Winter StoryWalk
Come enjoy the Trove’s Winter StoryWalk, featuring Winter, Winter Cold and Snow by Sharon Gibson Palermo and illustrated by Christina Song.  The StoryWalk will be available for viewing in the Trove from January 10 through February 28.
Family Storytime: Snow So Cold

Tiny Tots
Up to age 2 with a caregiver
Fridays, 11:00 a.m. – January 13, 20, 27
Our popular program for babies up to age 2 returns!  Interactive songs and fun in a lapsit format for a baby and their caregiver.
Freedom To Read Storytime
Ages 3+, Families
Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – January 18
Celebrate your Freedom to Read. Listen to The Librarian of Basra and Nasreen's Secret School to celebrate the power books have to liberate the human soul.  Part of the Library's year-long #WPFreedomToRead initiative.
Storybook Dancing with Steffi Nossen School of Dance 
Ages 2-6, Families
Thursday, 11:30 a.m. – January 19
A creative, movement-filled program for young ones to hear stories and then dance them to life!  Following Storybook Dancing, the children and caregivers are invited to Toy Time in the Story Trove – a time to play and socialize!

Storytime & Author Visit: Wolf Moon & Wolf Conservation
Children, Families
Thursday, 7:00 p.m. – January 19
Celebrate the Wolf Moon (January's Full Moon on 1/21) and learn about wolf conservation efforts with a presentation and storytime from authors, and wolf activists, Lois Kral and Leokadia George.

Talewise presents: Dragons & the Ice Sorceress
Saturday, January 21
PreK – Grade 5
Join Talewise on a quest to discover the ‘coolest’ thing in science: DRY ICE!  Volunteers from the audience will help conduct several science experiments as we explore the wondrous effects of dry ice and take part in an interactive story, “Dragons & The Ice Sorceress!”

Move & Groove with Miss Jolie
Ages 1-6, Families
Monday, 11:00 a.m. – January 12
Recently referred to by a parent as the “best program we’ve ever attended at any library” Miss Jolie‘s Move & Groove program infuses learning and movement with music, stories, and lots of silliness! She brings a twist to classic children's music in addition to engaging children with original interactive songs. Singing, dancing, clapping, snapping, and stomping are highly encouraged! Miss Jolie performs with her ukulele along with other musical instruments and props for the children.

Family Storytime: Chinese New Year
Ages 3+, Families
Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – January 25
Stories and songs about the Chinese New Year followed by a craft.
Many of these programs are supported by the White Plains Library Foundation and the Friends of the White Plains Library.
