This Month in the Edge: February 2023

This month, we have several activities going on in the Edge. Drop-in activities have more open availability during the month. Scheduled programs take place at specific times, linked below. Please join us for one or all!

Drop-in Activities:

Nintendo Switch
We'll have our Switch available to play during Edge hours on Tuesdays and Fridays in February.

SUNY Purchase Educational Opportunity Program Information Session
Thursday February 2 at 4:00 p.m.

Join us to learn about the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at Purchase College, SUNY. The session will provide information about EOP, the application process, and financial aid.

Do Gooders: Card Making
Saturdays February 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 2:00 p.m.

An opportunity for teens in grades 7-12 to earn community service hours. We'll have supplies for teens to make greeting cards. The finished cards will be donated to Meals on Wheels.

Minecraft for Youth
Monday February 6 at 4:00 p.m.

A new book discussion group for teens in grades 7-12. This month, we're reading Legendborn by Tracy Deonn, available in the library catalog and through Libby.

Igloo Virtual Tours
Dinosaurs: Sunday February 12 at 2:00 p.m.
Optimum Technology Room
All Ages
Go on a virtual tour of a distant place or time, using the library's newly installed panoramic video room, installed by Igloo Vision and funded by the Library Foundation and Optimum. Views from 360° content and more will be provided in this fun series of programs.

Common Ground

Common Ground is an in person conversation collaborated by White Plains League of Women Voters, YWCA and the Library. The topic discussed will be “What can you do to help the environment within your communityI” Teens may earn community service for meaningful participation.

Book Bunch
Thursday, February 16 at 4:30 p.m.

A fun hour of Book Bunch discussion on the book Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia, available in the library catalog and through Libby. We will discuss the book together and play a trivia game. The first eight to register will receive a free copy of the book.
