This Month in the Edge: May

This month, we have several activities going on in the Edge. Drop-in activities have more open availability during the month. Scheduled programs take place at specific times, linked below. Please join us for one or all!

Drop-in Activities:

Nintendo Switch
We'll have our Switch available to play during Edge hours on Tuesdays and Fridays in May.

Do Gooders
Need to earn some community service credit? Drop in and make some cards for Meals on Wheels. Every Saturday in May.

Wanderhome Session 5

Igloo VR: Artificial Intelligence
Thursday May 11 at 5:15 p.m.
Optimum Technology Room
All Ages
Experience Virtual Reality (VR) without a headset in the library's newly installed panoramic content room. Views from 360° content and more will be provided in this fun series of programs. Each session will feature unique content. Technology installed by Igloo Vision and funded by the Library Foundation/Optimum.

Needle Felting 101
Friday May 12 at 2:00 p.m.

Needle felting involves shaping un-spun wool into various shapes with a barbed needle. In this program, you'll learn to make a small felt flower, which may be embellished with contrasting wool colors, embroidery thread, or buttons. All skill levels welcome; teens and adults welcome! A new book discussion group for teens. This month, we're reading The Starlight Claim by Tim Wynne-Jones. The Starlight Claim is available in the library catalog and through Libby.

Book Bunch

A fun hour of Book Bunch discussion on the book Sheets by Brenna Thummler, available in the library catalog. We will discuss the book together and play a trivia game. The first eight to register will receive a free copy of the book.

From Page to Picture: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

This month's YA book/movie pairing is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Read the book before the event, then join us to watch the movie and debate the relative merits of each medium. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is available in the library catalog and through Libby.
