September Programs for Younger Kids

Great programs for younger children take place all month long, every month, at the Library. See our online calendar or stop in the Trove for location information.

Tiny Tots!
0 – 24 months, with a caregiver
Fridays, 11:00 a.m. – September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Ticket required. Please pick up tickets in the Trove starting 30 minutes before the program.
Interactive songs and fun in a lapsit format for wee ones and their caregivers. Due to limited space and concerns for the well-being of the young children, this program will be strictly for up to 24 months old.

Bilingual Family Storytime
Ages 3+, Families
Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – September 6
Families will listen to a bilingual story, sing bilingual songs and make a craft. This program will be in English and Spanish.

Storytime!
Ages 2-6, Families
Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. – September 7, 14, 21, 28
Mondays, 11:00 a.m. – September 18, 25
Ticket required.  Please pick up tickets in the Trove starting 30 minutes before the program.
Stories, songs and fun! Following Storytime, the children and caregivers are invited to Toy Time in the Story Trove – a time to play and socialize! Due to limited space, the age range of 2-6 will be more strictly enforced for Story Time. If ages 0-24 months, please attend Tiny Tots.

Celebrate Grandparents’ Day!
Children, Families
Sunday, 2:00 p.m. – September 10
Come join us at the library to celebrate Grandparent's Day with a storytime, craft and photo booth! We'll be joined by Grandpas United who will have a table with information and swag.
Let’s Groove! with Miss Lisa
Ages 3 months – 5 years, Families
Monday, 11:00 a.m. – September 11
Ticket required.  Please pick up tickets in the Trove starting 30 minutes before the program.
Join Miss Lisa and her guitar for a fun-filled music class and be ready to dance to a bunch of tunes!  Followed by Toy Time in the Story Trove.
Mindfulness & Yoga Storytime 
Ages 2-6, Families
Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. – September 12
Saturday, 2:00 p.m. – September 23
Ticket required.  Please pick up tickets in the Trove starting 30 minutes before the program.
Mindfulness Storytime with a Trove librarian and a certified yoga instructor! Hear a book about Mindfulness and then do some basic yoga poses.   Followed by Toy Time in the Story Trove.
Family Storytime: Nacho & Lolita
Ages 3+, Families
Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – September 13
A very rare pitacohi bird falls in love with a swallow and plucks his colorful feathers to transform dry, barren San Juan Capistrano into a haven of flowers and flowing water, which the swallows can easily find when returning from their annual migration.
Move & Groove with Miss Jolie
Ages 1-8, Families
Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. – September 19
Referred to by a parent as the “best program we’ve ever attended at any library,” Miss Jolie performs with her ukulele along with other musical instruments and props for the children leading them in a high-energy, high-fun program.   Followed by Toy Time in the Story Trove.
Family Storytime: Welcoming Autumn
Ages 3+, Families
Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – September 20
Stories, songs and a craft about Autumn.
K-2 Stories & Stuff: Autumn
Grades K-2
Tuesday, 4:30 p.m. – September 21
Ticket required.  Please pick up tickets in the Trove starting 30 minutes before the program.

Books and a craft about Autumn.
Rock Your World Kids Concert
Up to age 8, Families
Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. – September 27
Galaxy Hall
Join Miss Armelle for an educational multicultural music show! Miss Armelle brings instruments for all to join in this performance of global tunes which include traditional favorites and new songs.  Followed by Toy Time in the Story Trove.
Author Visit Storytime:  Nicole Quattrocchi
Ages 2-6, Families
Saturday, 2:00 p.m. – September 30
Enjoy a Special Author Storytime with author Nicole Quattrocchi to celebrate her book, Sox and His Extra Toes.
Many of these programs are supported by the White Plains Library Foundation and the Friends of the White Plains Library.
