Modern Pop Art Restrospective. An exhibit by Michael Albert

American POP Artist MICHAEL ALBERT (American, born 1966) has been creating ART since his college days at New York University, where he studied business. His art has evolved from doodles with colored pencils, magic markers & pen & ink, to serious wax oil drawings, to the cubist mosaic Cereal box collages he has become known for.

In the past several years he has been creating large-scale “Epic” collage works on various themes including: Historical, Biblical, Literary, Musical, Lyrical, Botanical, Logo Montages, Color Studies, Mathematical & Geographical. This exhibit showcases a selection of his original artworks created & published over the past 35+ years.

For the past 2 decades he has been showcasing his work in a variety of traditional & non-traditional venues including museums, galleries, libraries, art & community centers, cafes, restaurants & stores. He has also developed a traveling art enrichment program he calls the “Modern Pop Art Experience” where he talks about his art & life & runs Hands-On Collage workshops for students & people of all ages also at a variety of venues including schools, libraries, museums, festivals, community centers & hospitals. He tries to use his art in every way he can to share it with others & to show his love of art & learning which he hopes may inspire others.

This all inspires him to keep going on his artistic journey. So far, Albert has brought his modern pop art program to over 1,000 venues (mostly libraries, schools & museums) in 48 of the United States as well as several times in Europe & Canada. He has been living in White Plains for over 20 years.

Mr. Albert is honored to be the featured artist here NOW through the end of September 2024. He appreciates the opportunity to share his work with his hometown community. One of Albert’s first library workshops was here in 2008 when his book, “An Artist’s America” came out. Now he is happy to have the opportunity to display his ART in the WPPL Gallery with this special Retrospective Exhibition 15 years later!
