Animal Vignettes: A Tribute to Whimsical Wildlife

Experience the joyful charm of Erwin Ong's “Animal Vignettes: A Tribute to Whimsical Wildlife,” a collection that stretches beyond his renowned underwater themes to celebrate animals of land and air. In this exhibition, Erwin brings to life a variety of creatures—especially his beloved giraffes, with their unique silhouette and beautiful spots—through his signature line art style and bold color palette.

This show features a menagerie of marker drawings, mixed media sculptures, and digital prints, including larger pieces filling the beautiful gallery with bright colors, humorous scenes, and playful compositions that will leave audiences feeling happy and cheerful. Inspired by the anthropomorphic universes of artists like Richard Scarry and Gary Larson, “Animal Vignettes” is Erwin's tribute to the dynamic, fun, and funny worlds that captivated him in childhood, inviting viewers to rediscover the simple joys of imagination.

On view in the Library Gallery, October 14 through November 17.  Meet the artist at a reception on November 2, 2-4pm in the Gallery.
