SWBOCES Fashion Show

Thursday, May 16th 4:00 p.m. Library Auditorium The Library is excited to collaborate with the SWBOCES Fashion Design & Merchandising Program to host a special runway event showcasing the work of students throughout the year.  The show, titled “Fashion in Toyland,” was originally inspired by student interest and enjoyment of the Barbie film last summer.  Students then took field trips to FAO Schwarz and Toys R Us to gain more ideas for fashion designs inspired by toys. “The Gratitude Project” Exhibit

Artist: Hilda Green Demsky “The Gratitude Project” Painting and Poetry Exhibit Interpretive oil paintings inspired by responses of 36 United States Poets Laureate to The New York Times inquiry “What people in their State would be thankful for” during the Covid pandemic. My Body as a Memory Exhibit

Caribbean Archive’s debut exhibit, My Body as a Memory, will be on display in the Library’s Gallery from September 8th through October 9th, with an opening reception and performance on September 8th from 6:00–8:45 p.m. My Body as a Memory features five artists of Caribbean/Latin Caribbean and African descent and surveys paintings, performance art, and video/film. My Body as a Memory will explore the theme of the traveling body across the Caribbean and the African diaspora. Our past, the present, as well as the future, cannot be avoided.
