Library to Expand Hours July 1st

White Plains Public Library is pleased to announce expanded hours starting July 1. The new hours represent a 20% increase over the Library’s current open hours. “We’re grateful to the Mayor and members of the Common Council for their continued support of the Library,” said Library Director Brian Kenney. “Despite only a modest change in our fiscal year 2012-2013 budget we have made it our priority to increase the time the Library is open to the public. I hate to beg, but this time I have to. The Library needs your help in determining its future direction. We began working on a new strategic plan for the library back in January, conducting focus groups with adults, parents of children from pre-K through 8th grade, and teens. In all, we spoke with over 100 individuals, and learned a lot (I will share some of their suggestions later in the week).
