STEAM Programs for Middle Grades

STEAM Programs for Middle Grades:
Tuesdays and Thursdays in July, we'll offer a wide variety of virtual STEAM mini-camps for grades 4-6. Participants must be able to attend both sessions. Registration is required. To register, click on the date(s) you're interested in attending. Supplies will be provided by the Library. When they are ready you will be contacted to pick them up via contactless curbside pickup.

June 30 & July 2 – 4:30-5:30 p.m. – Conor McFinn – Storyboarding and Storytelling
Learn about Storyboarding and Storytelling for film in this 2-day workshop. Conor McFinn will teach techniques and secrets of becoming a film producer.

July 7 & 9 – 2:15-3:15 p.m. – Don Hebel – Digital Painting with Krita
Don Hebel will teach the craft of digital painting. Participants will need to download Krita, https://krita.org/en/, a free to use software.
July 14 & 16 – 2:15-3:15 p.m. – Nicole Zahour – Gesture Sculpture
Nicole Zahour from the Rye Arts Center will run this 2 day workshop to teach sculpture.

July 21 & 23 – 2:15-3:15 p.m. – Gary Mack- Minecraft Engineering with Legos
Gary Mack will teach a 2-day workshop on engineering skills using ideas from Minecraft and using LEGOs.

July 28 & 30 – 2:15-3:15 p.m. – Terry Taylor- Fun with Sewing
Terry Taylor will teach a 2-day workshop that will teach you basic skills on learning to sew.

These program are funded by a generous grant from Verisk Analytics to the White Plains Library Foundation. And is done in conjunction with the Rye Arts Center.
