Summer Reading at White Plains Public Library: 6/28 – 8/20
Summer Reading at the Library kicks off Monday, June 28 and runs through Friday, August 20. Reading activity will be logged online with READSquared. More information on Summer Reading at White Plains Public Library can be found here.
Grab & Go: Kits are fun and educational activities to do at home. Kits are available in a variety of age ranges throughout the month, including AtoZ and special themed PreK level Kits. Dates that new Kits are available for pickup can be found on our online calendar.

Registration required for Outdoor Storytimes. Registration will open one week before the event takes place.
Books, songs and fun! Storytimes will work a bit differently this summer. On our online calendar, you will find entries on each day above for two sessions of Outdoor Storytime and one for Storytime for Ages 2-6 (Virtual).
Outdoor Storytimes
Outdoor Storytimes will be held on the Library Plaza, on the grassy area behind the Library. We will have two sessions of Outdoor Storytime: at 11:00 a.m. and at 11:30 a.m. Register for only one session per day through our online calendar. Registration is required, as we will be maintaining social distancing. Each storytime will be 20-25 minutes long with time in-between for attendees to wipe down their seating area with disinfecting wipes. Unvaccinated individuals ages two and up should wear masks at outdoor programs.
Only registered families will be able to attend. Please register as one adult in your family. A family unit of up to four people can attend with your registration. Each family will sit together and remain within its designated area for the duration of the program. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be on-hand.
Storytime for Ages 2-6 (Virtual)
Virtual Storytime will only be at 11:00 a.m. and only if Outdoor Storytime needs to be canceled. If that occurs, visit the Zoom link in Storytime for Ages 2-6 (Virtual) on the online calendar to join the virtual program.

Firelight Shadow Theater presents Me and My Shadow a pre-recorded performance of shadow puppetry versions of best-loved nursery rhymes. Access and more information here.
Available for viewing during Library hours from Monday, July 12 – Friday, August 12 on the Library Plaza.
Come enjoy a fun, colorful book while strolling around the Library Plaza and introducing children to fruits and vegetables! Related Grab & Go Craft Kit and STEAM Activity Sheet available while supplies last beginning July 12.

Fiesta with Flor! is an invitation to dance around the world. Come experience our Latin music fusion party as we travel to the places where the rhythms were born. Children will learn about different types of music and culture through interactive participation, puppetry and storytelling. This is not your typical children’s concert, it’s a whole family fiesta!

August 19: Wally and the Water Cycle
Featuring bubbles, laughter, stories, dancing, games, and incredible visuals, Turtle Dance Music shows are a simply awesome time. Shows are crafted to be inclusive for all children, including children on the Autism Spectrum, and a great time for parents and caregivers! Each song in the show is accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences designed to help kids learn and have fun at the same time.

Ages 1-6, families
Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. – July 27, August 31
Miss Jolie's Move & Groove program infuses learning and movement with music, stories, and lots of silliness! She brings a twist to classic children's music in addition to engaging children with original interactive songs. Singing, dancing, clapping, snapping, and stomping are highly encouraged! Miss Jolie performs with her ukulele along with other musical instruments and props for the children.
