My Body as a Memory Exhibit

Caribbean Archive’s debut exhibit, My Body as a Memory, will be on display in the Library’s Gallery from September 8th through October 9th, with an opening reception and performance on September 8th from 6:00–8:45 p.m. My Body as a Memory features five artists of Caribbean/Latin Caribbean and African descent and surveys paintings, performance art, and video/film. Fair Street USA Block Party & Exhibit

Fair Street USA is a Fair Housing Education Public Art Exhibition sponsored by the City of White Plains Planning Department and funded by a HUD grant. An Exhibition of Artist books by Marc Shanker

The Library will host an exhibition of Artist Books by self-taught artist Marc Shanker. The show runs from Monday, December 6th, 2021 through Friday, February 4th, 2022. “My books are words extended by images, and images extended by words. The physicality of books focuses attention and adds to their significance. Whether large or small, books exert a power unlike any other object,” states Shanker. The exhibition includes over thirty prints and eleven Artist Books. Regeneration Art Exhibit

This new exhibit will be on display in the Library's newly renovated Museum Gallery on the second floor starting Tuesday, June 1st, through Friday, September 3rd. The gallery is accessible during normal Library hours. “Regeneration” looks at a future focused on climate justice. Painting on Silk Demonstration

Berenice Pliskin has been a working silk painter for the past 20 years. Her paintings have been featured in news media and museums and exhibited widely. Some are being shown in our Museum Gallery right now (through November 16th) alongside her husband Bob's work.
