New York Historical Society Museum Passes Now Available

The White Plains Public Library is pleased to announce the addition of the New-York Historical Society Museum at 170 Central Park West to the Museum Pass Program.  The Library pass provides free admission for two adults and all accompanied children under eighteen years of age. The New-York Historical Society’s museum is the oldest in New York City and predates the founding of the Metropolitan Museum of Art by nearly seventy years. Stone Barns Center Now Included in our Museum Pass Program

The Library is excited to announce the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture is now available as part of our Museum Pass Program. We have 2 passes to the Center: one is specifically for Saturday visits and one is specifically for Sunday visits. The passes allow entry for up to 2 adults and 4 youth OR 1 vehicle.  You should reserve the pass for the specific day you want to visit. Note: The Center is also open Wednesday through Friday and admission is free so there is no need for a pass. Storywalk in the Park

The City of White Plains Recreation and Parks Department, in partnership with the White Plains Public Library, is pleased to introduce StoryWalk at Bryant-Mamaroneck Park. The StoryWalk combines a children's story with a popular walking route. Children's books are selected, the pages separated, laminated, and placed along a walking path at regular intervals so readers can follow the story as they walk the route. Trove Lego® Club Spring Events

The Trove Lego® Club has been busy this Spring! In April, Trove Lego® Club members displayed sculptures at the Family Fun event, April 18th and 19th at Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown, NY. As exhibitors, they received free tickets for themselves and their families. This was a wonderful opportunity to publicly display their work and participate in some exciting Lego® activities in a grand and historic setting. Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to learn how to apply makeup that is appropriate for job interviews and internships. Jill K. of JKFlashy will lead a discussion of makeup techniques for a professional look. During the last hour of the workshop, teens will have the opportunity to practice their new skills. Are you a new driver? Getting your license soon? Attend our Allstate Readiness Teen Safe Driving Program, Monday, April 6, 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Library auditorium. Learn safe driving tips from certified driving instructor Jim Fatigate. Parents welcome. Students will earn one hour of community service credit for attending. Refreshments provided.
