The Trove is excited to announce a new “bite-sized” early literacy video series called Tiny Tales. Trove Librarians will be recording and sharing short stories, songs, rhymes and more. Author Storytime: Who Visits Me From A to Z at the dentist
Tuesday, May 10 at 1 pm. Dental hygienist Joanne Roos wrote a picture book to introduce children to the dentist. She will read her book, with help from some puppet friends, and teach how to brush our teeth. For children ages 2 and up with a caregiver. Kick Off Black History Month
The Trove at the White Plains Public Library and White Plains Juneteenth Heritage Committee have joined together to kick off February as Black History Month on Sunday, January 31 in The Trove. The activities begin at 1:00 p.m. with the opening of the annual Black History StoryWalk®. Up in Space and Sea Life were the themes that kicked off a new series of math and science storytimes in mid-January in The Trove. The storytimes offer demonstrations, including stories, interactive activities and crafts, of 12 new Bag-A-Tales available soon for checkout. Funding for the bags and storytimes has been provided by the White Plains Library Foundation through a Target Early Childhood Reading Grant.
