Grab & Go Kits for Grades 4 and up: Big Dipper Embroidery

As part of our celebration of the Harriet Tubman statue “The Journey to Freedom,” we've put together an embroidery craft kit for grades 4 and up. Kits are first come, first served, and will become available on Monday, May 16th in the Library lobby. The kit includes an embroidery hoop and needle, blue fabric, and metallic thread in silver and gold. You'll just need to provide scissors. We think this kit is totally doable for grades 4 and up, but the younger end of the age range would benefit from a parent's help to complete the kit. We'll follow a

Moon Knight was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin. He first appeared in Werewolf, and later had his own series run. Who is Moon Knight? Marc Spector, who has dissociative identity disorder, commonly referred to as multiple personality disorder. He received his powers from the Egyptian

What You Need To Know About: The Uncharted Movie

I think the first mention of the Uncharted movie was before the Edge was built, even before I started working at the Library. So yeah, this movie has been a long time coming. To put in the gaming timeline, this movie was first talked about when the Playstation 3 was still out, now we are on the PS5. In that time Uncharted has become insanely popular. There are four games in the series as well as four spin-off games, plus collections of the games. The movie has seen a change of cast and directors while the video game has reached

Dive into Diversity: Most Popular YA of 2021

In 2021, my Dive into Diversity posts about young adult books will focus on a different genre each month. I’ll highlight books with characters that represent a range of experiences and identities. I’ll also feature authors who share an aspect of their characters’ identity as much as possible. For the last post of 2021, I looked at the circulation data for the YA fiction collection to see which books checked out the most. I came up with this list of the top ten most popular YA fiction books published in 2021, written by authors with diverse perspectives. When You Look
