Edge Summer Reading 2024

Summer Reading at White Plains Library begins Monday, July 1st and runs through Friday, August 30th. For Grades 7-12 summer reading, visit the Edge to sign up. Join us for our summer reading kick-off party on Monday, July 1 from 4-6 PM. We will have pizza, drinks, games, a scavenger hunt, and giveaways. For Grades 7-12 Let us know what you’re reading this summer, whether you read one book or fifty. Trove Summer Reading 2024

Summer Reading at White Plains Library begins Monday, July 1st and runs through Friday, August 17th. As part of the kick-off for Summer Reading 2024, on July 1-3, while supplies last, when a child signs up for summer reading, they will receive a free, age-appropriate, mystery bag of 3-4 books! For PreK: Kids and Parents will receive a bingo board. Each bingo board returned earns you a coloring page and an entry to the summer reading prize raffle. Summer STEAM Events

Please join us at the Library this summer for two fun STEAM activities for grades 1-6 in The Trove. On Wednesday July, 12th we will be kicking off our Summer STEAM programs by learning how to create bubbles. After we make our bubbles we will use pipe cleaners and beads to create a bubble wand so that we can test our STEAM experiment. Music and Puppets with Jumpin’ Jamie

The Jester Jim Show – 8/3, 2pm (Kids, Families)

Wednesday, 2:00 p.m.: 8/2 Children, families. Library Plaza / Rain Location: Library Auditorium. “This is not your ordinary juggling show!” Juggling, spinning iPads, beat boxing, amazing tricks and lots of laughs. Celebrate African Dance, Drumming, & Storytelling

Magician Leon Etienne to Perform Virtually

Abracadabra! On Wednesday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m., magician and illusionist Leon Etienne will give a White Plains Public Library performance via Zoom. “Most of it will be live, but I hope to open with highlights of my best stunts,” he says. Summer of Making

The Library will be holding our free summer camps virtually this year. Thanks to a generous grant from Verisk Analytics to the White Plains Library Foundation we will continue with another Summer of Making. Starting on June 29th and going through August 6th, there will be 6 1-week mini-camps held on Zoom for teens in grades 7-12.
