Edge Summer Reading 2024

Summer Reading at White Plains Library begins Monday, July 1st and runs through Friday, August 30th. For Grades 7-12 summer reading, visit the Edge to sign up. Join us for our summer reading kick-off party on Monday, July 1 from 4-6 PM. We will have pizza, drinks, games, a scavenger hunt, and giveaways. For Grades 7-12 Let us know what you’re reading this summer, whether you read one book or fifty. Trove Summer Reading 2024

Summer Reading at White Plains Library begins Monday, July 1st and runs through Friday, August 17th. As part of the kick-off for Summer Reading 2024, on July 1-3, while supplies last, when a child signs up for summer reading, they will receive a free, age-appropriate, mystery bag of 3-4 books! For PreK: Kids and Parents will receive a bingo board. Each bingo board returned earns you a coloring page and an entry to the summer reading prize raffle. Reading & STEM Buddies Return

We’re excited to announce the return of two popular programs:  Reading Buddies and STEM Buddies! Reading Buddies Grades 2-5 Tuesdays, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. – July 11, 18, 25; August 1, 8, 15 Space is limited.  Sign up in the Trove starting at 4:45 p.m. Children can practice reading with a teen Reading Buddy. Reading Buddies will be available to read one-on-one with children for 15 minute sessions in the Trove. Science Heroes STEM Show

Science Heroes: Saving Earth Together STEM Show Children, Families Tuesday, July 25, at 2:00 p.m. Talewise presents this action-packed story where two unlikely heroes work together to save their town (and the planet) from a super-polluting mastermind! Throughout the adventure, volunteers will help the performer conduct several exciting science experiments that bring this story to life! Together we’ll explore Newton’s Laws of Motion, air pressure, chemical reactions, and more! This program is made possible with support from the White Plains Library Foundation.

Pirate School

Tuesday, 2:00 p.m.: 7/19 Grades K-6. Library Auditorium. Ahoy me hearties! America's premiere swashbuckling family variety act is a madcap school for ‘good pirates.'
